What a summer! - September 25, 2008
Well its looking like fall, and feeling like fall.. I have dug out my sweaters and scarves! This past summer was very full and very fun! I spent 10 days in Disneyland with the Janz family, helping them to care for their 2 very precious and very active girls!! I have always wanted to go to Disneyland and was in heaven! My favorite rides were the ones in fantasy land where you got to sit on those little train like things and re live the fairy tales.. peter pan, snow white etc. LOVED IT! We did the pirates ride lots too.. man those robots look real :)! Also, I have never had so much cotton candy in my life.. it just tasted SO GOOD there :)!
After Disneyland it was back to work! Mike and I were able to enjoy a couple camping trips and some great hikes! As far as music goes, I lead worship lots at my church, and gave a little concert at Agri fair! This last week I went to Mexico with my very best friend and her mom for a week of nothing but beach!! Seriously, no tours, just beach. It was glorious! So now I'm feeling rested and ready for the coming months!
Coming Up:
- My husband and I just bought our first home! YAY! :) we will be moving in mid October! This will be our 5th move in less than two years :)!!! We plan on not moving for a very, very long time!
-I've got spaces open - mostly weekends for ministry events... Christmas parties, worship leading, youth ministry, fundraising etc. See my website for the details!

Its April!! - April 2, 2008
Well, April is here! This month is packed full of all sorts of exciting and challenging things! The very first "Cheesecake Concert" is this coming weekend and I"m SO excited to see what God is going to do :)!! Its not too late to get your ticket, so if you live in the lower mainland you should seriously consider coming out as this promises to be a very fun filled and inspiring evening!!!
-I am now an official volunteer with the Canadian Cancer Society!!! What this means is that I have access to a wealth of information on cancer prevention and care!!! I will be going into our local schools to share my music as well as talk about Breast Cancer with young women! I am also available to come speak to women's groups about this very relevant topic! If this is something that interestes you, send me a note! Please pray that God would continue to open up doors for me and that I would continue to find favor with the public and private schools in the lower mainland!
April also marks the two year mark with out my mom... I cannot believe how much growing (and grieving) i've done in the past two years.. wow.. I know my momma would be proud...April has once again found itself filled with bookings to share my journey.. its always a little bit harder and a little bit more real during this times....anyway, enough about that.
Please pray for my friend Feather.. I've talked about her before in my letters.. she is really struggling right now as she battles breast cancer for the second time.. you can check out her blog at :

My poor teeth - July 12, 2007
Well, I finally did it.. I had my wisdom teeth removed.. I have been avoiding this procedure my whole entire life... I managed to finally convince myself that it wouldn't be THAT bad.. well.... was I ever wrong... The teeth came out on Friday... it is now Thursday and i''m just starting to venture out of my bed and into the wild world around me! It turns out that my lymph node got infected... thus the reason the right side of my face has earned me the title "chipmunk". People laugh out loud when they see me... its quite sad.. Anyway.. I'm on antibiotics now and the pain is starting to subside... poooor lisa.. On a brighter note... I have recieved some MAJA award nominations! WOOHOOO .. If i heard correctly.. FIVE in total.. I will post more information on those shortly!
Toronto Mini Tour - June 28, 2007
Wow! All I can say is Wow.. What a crazy adventure filled 5 days!
We arrived in Toronto very late, we left Abbotsford at 3:30, but given the time zone change didn't arrive in Toronto till midnightish... So off the plane and to the car rental place we went! We were soo blessed to get a brand stinkin new PT Cruiser.. in silver blue.. with less than 100 clicks on it! So away we drove, into the night, into the land of many highways and no road signs! We were expecting a hour long drive to the guest house we were staying at but were pleasantly surprised to find we were there in less than 20 min!!! We stayed our first 2 nights with Meagan... she is this super cool woman with a huge house that she lets missionaries stay in! We got to our beds and let me tell you I crashed!!!!
Day 1
Slept through till 10ish and my poor body woke up very confused! It's still confused and adjusting to time differences! Anyway.. we spent most of the day just chillin and getting our bearings.. Debbie was set up to play at the Brampton Blessings and I, quite determined to get the most out of our trip decided to tag along... !! We were there for four hours and needless to say I became very acquainted with the layout and merchandise that Blessing's bookstores have to offer!!! About half way through Debbie’s show I got hit with what I like to call the fast number 2's! Very unpleasant let me tell you!! I think it may have been the sketchy salad I ate at McDonalds earlier that day... I had a sore stomach for most of the trip :(.. BUT! I was a trooper and made it through!!!
Day 2!
We were up at 9 and off to Brantford for our radio interviews with Power 93! It was a lovely drive and I absolutely fell in love with the town of Brantford.. it was a wonderful mix of downtown Vancouver and Victoria in its style... old homes, lots of brick... quaint little streets and gorgeous old churches! We made it to the home of Vicki and Tony ... WHAT COOL PEOPLE! I had a lot of concerns that I would be under pressure to be a very conservative, quiet, well behaved young christian woman during this trip.. I was so wrong!! Vicki and Tony were wild, Spirit filled, think outside the box Jesus lovers!!! And they had a radio station in their basement and their very own Church!!! AND they had such a cool house! It was tropical themed and relaxing!! Well, we visited and ate, and visited some more and decided that we would like to continue the fun and save the radio interviews for the next day! Vicki and Tony took us to thier "farm house" and we had a BBQ with their whole family! It was a riot!! ... We made it back to the hotel around 10ish.. what a day!
Day 3
Ministry day. I was set up to lead worship and speak at the Why Not City Mission downtown.. Deb was at the Tabernacle Church (Vicki and Tony’s church).. Well I fell head over heels in love with that mission.. It was SO urban and filled with amazing prophetic paintings and there was a coffee shop in it!!!.. ah! I had the time of my life leading worship and sharing my story.. I was so blessed to be there! There is no doubt in my mind that I will go back one day soon!!!! Seriously, most awesome place ever. I was taken back to the Tabernacle church by Sue (she runs the mission with her husband Charlie) where we had lunch and visited!.. Then Vicki took us to do our radio interviews. WHAT FUN!!!!.... off to the hotel to just unwind.. early start to sleep.. we got there at 4 and laid in bed for HOURS.. then we had a surprise visit from a wonderful woman who ministers in Cuba... She shared her passions for Cuba with us and prayed with us and over us and WOW.. she spoke straight to my very heart.. she said to me, never change, don't every change who you are... Did that ever hit home!!!
Day 4
A chill day.. we met with Marg from Women Alive and had the pleasure of going to lunch with her!.. Then on the road to Hamilton for another Blessings event.... Deb played, I sat in a rocking chair beside the piano , sipped a peppermint London Fog from Starbucks (thanks to manager James) and soaked up the tunes!... at 8pm we packed up and went to our hotel. Well, tried to.. we got SO LOST lol.. adventures are great.. but we did finally get there and hit the sauna and pool and took time for some much needed R&R
Day 5
We got up at 6:30!! TOO EARLY for 100 Huntley Street... we packed up our bags, checked out and hit the road...I found myself SO SICK.. I contemplated not even going in for my taping.. but somehow got it together enough to go inside... We were taken in to the "Green Room" where this wonderful security guard prayed over me to feel better... 10 min later I was on my feet and laughing and ate breakfast and wow...had my very first behind the scenes TV experience.. I watched the taping.. then after the show pre recorded two songs "Carry On" and "There you are".... WHAT FUN! Oh, I enjoyed myself...Keep your eyes open, I'm hoping those songs will air in the near future!.. We had lunch with some of the Huntley Street crew and were off to the airport...
The journey home was a long one and we got home very late but It was all SO WORTH IT... I learned so much that trip and met so many amazing people and had a much needed opportunity to connect with Debbie and ask her all sorts of questions about life and ministry....
I know I'll be back to Toronto soon!

I had a great time singing during my mini concert and had the privilege of meeting some really amazing ladies after the show! I feel so blessed to have been a part of this event! I was able to share my story and songs AND get some much needed "God time". I also had some great rest time at the LOVELY Manteo resort where I stayed! It doesn't get any better than that!

Tea Time! - April 26, 2007
Well! "Tea time for the Cure" was last night and was it ever amazing! I was so blown away by all the people and support that was packed into that one small room! Feathers sense of humor is still very much intact and it was really refreshing to hear her speak. I, made it through my two songs and my little talk without any tears! (YAY LISA!!!) .. Chris sang three songs, all amazing!!! and Debbie sang 1, also amazing!! (you must hear her AMAZING new instrumental album "Beautfiul Piano" www.farawayworship.com) It was just all around an awesome evening!
